At Mercy Hill, we believe that mercy is a central tenet of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In our sin God showed us compassion and mercy by sending Christ to take the penalty that we owed. We believe that all have fallen short of the glory of God, but we also believe that Christ called us to offer repentance as a new way forward for sinners. This is certainly true for our fellow men and women in the Loudoun County prison system.
"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, 36 I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.' 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?' 40 And the King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.'"

LCJM is a Christian care movement in the criminal justice system of Loudoun County. Its mission is to encourage and assist the Churches of Loudoun County by working in the local detention centers and in the community, providing a ministry to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families, and by promoting Biblical concepts within the County's criminal justice system. To fulfill this mission, we:
(1) Work in County jails to proclaim the Good News, make disciples and build up the church of Jesus Christ among prisoners;
(2) Work in the community to educate and assist local churches in ministry to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families;
(3) Work with the local criminal justice system to encourage Biblical values of justice and righteousness.
